Henricus is a name with a special meaning.
Around 1182, Gerard van Loon, the sixth count of the county of Loon, founded the abbey of Herkenrode near his residence in Kuringen. He gave the territory, about 3000 hectares in the 13th century, to a certain brother Henricus. On the condition that the brother there founded a monastery for Cistercian nuns. It eventually became the first and largest women’s monastery of that order in the Netherlands.
After 750 years, Brother Henricus is again echoed in this delightful distillate that comes from its founding grounds, provided that the abbeys of Herkenrode are mentioned. Moreover, the drink is named after our distillation kettle “Henri”.

Henricus Josephine
This 100% malt wine was named after the last Abdis van Herkenrode Josephine de Gondecourt (1791-1796). It is a malt wine that has rested for one year on an oak barrel. Enriched with a spice mix of juniper berries.

Henricus Catharina
Named after abbess Catharina van Mombeek (1702-1725).
This is a malt wine made from barley and rye that has rested for one year, enriched with a spice mix of juniper berries. “Catharina” gets an extraordinary pepper touch from the wooden barrel.

Henricus Aleidis
Named after abbess Aleidis van Waanrode (1354-1365).
A malt wine that has rested for one year on an oak barrel of sherry, enriched with a spice mix of juniper berries. This gives Aleidis the dry aftertaste of the 100% malt wine.

Aqua Henricus 13
A tribute to our historian “Jacob van Maerlant” who did the first writings in 1269 about our distilled juniper. The first note of what will eventually, throughout the ages, lead to our jenever.

With Aqua Henricus, Vanderlinden goes back to a recipe from the 13th century that was refreshed to our spirit of time. More than 750 years of tradition around our well-known juniper is hidden in this delicious distillate of wine must and juniper.

The Hasseltse Jonge
The Hasselt Grain Jenever from Stokerij Vanderlinden has been distilled twice and has matured for six months.
The bottle contains 5% Hasselt Malt Wine, juniper, coriander and other spices.
No extra addition of sugar.

Hasseltse Bio Jonge
The organic grains come from 2 local farmers and are milled in the village mill in Stevoort. After the grain has been distilled twice and has matured for six months, 5% Hasselt Malt wine, juniper, coriander and other spices are added to the bottle.

The Hasselt Grain Jenever from Vanderlinden has been distilled twice. Our 15% malt wine has aged for one year. A mix of juniper and other herbs makes it complete.

This apple jenever is composed of apple juice from the Jonagold, 2% Hasselt Malt Wine, Eau de vie from Appel and a pinch of sugar.

A portion of the red berries macerated on an oak barrel, the other part macerated, 2% Hasselt Malt Wine and some extra sugar finishes it off.

Contains at least 2% malt wine on the total %vol alcohol to guarantee authenticity. Natural distilled aromas from the brown spiced biscuit, speculaas, give the final taste to this piece of Hasselt Authenticity.

Cherry Liqueur
Our cherry liqueur is a top product in which you can fully taste the craftmanship. A part of the cherries harvested is distilled into an eau de vie, the other part of the cherries is placed on an eau de vie of cherry. The two products are combined after a rest period.
