Vanderlinden uses different types of fruit from Haspengouw to make delicious eaux de vie. These brandies are then in turn processed in a fruit jenever or liqueur.
Distillery Vanderlinden is more than a distillery. It is an open platform, a community of like-minded people who are given the opportunity to have their own mash distilled in the distillery Among other things, apples, pears and grape press residues will get a new life and will be distilled into a beautiful eau de vie. Boiler Henri loves to distil your self-developed fermentation or macerate into an excellent distillate.
If you have been dreaming for years of having your own label, where you can produce a creation to your own flavor, you can go to Vanderlinden. Together with them, you bottle your own authentic product, from a few bottles to large quantities.
Vanderlinden stands for straightforwardness and no-nonsense. They work with quality and honest products. They experiment and look for that one unique taste. And all this with a healthy portion of self-criticism.
In this way, Stokerij Vanderlinden adds a new chapter to the rich Hasselt heritage of distilleries.
OUR PASSION
Olivier Vanderlinden’s spirited passion didn’t just come out of the blue. As commander at the Confrérie of Hasselt Jenever, he watched with sadness how the number of distilleries was in free fall. That is why he decided to revamp the art of distillation and give it back to the people.
In a cowshed behind his grandparents’ house, Olivier built his own alcohol distillery to honour this personal piece of history in the 18th-century tradition of distilling.
He bases his working process on the principles of the circular economy and thereby uses brand new equipment while looking for raw materials as close to home as possible. Exactly as in the good old days, nothing is lost during the distillery process, and raw materials are used that could in principle be obtained by horse and cart.
Everything is dominated by taste Among other things, the difference between the grains, the wooden or stainless steel barrels and the tap water results in a different type of malt wine. And it is precisely that infinite amount of possibilities that fuel Olivier’s great passion. And it is precisely that infinite amount of possibilities that fuel Olivier’s great passion.
